Florida Homeschool Legal Requirements


Homeschooling is regulated at the state level and changes may be made to the relevant statutes at any time. Always consult the actual state code for the most up to date and accurate legal information with regard to homeschooling. The links provided below contain information that may or may not be current.

Homeschool Legal Advantage (HLA)
HLA is an outreach of the Christian Law Association. The CLA has faithfully served churches and families since 1969, and has successfully defended over 8,000 educational freedom related cases. We are an association of thousands of families in the state of Florida who educate our own children. This site is dedicated to assisting our members to ensure the highest quality of education, and to provide help and information to to other families who are considering homeschooing.


Home Resources & Education, Inc
H.E.R.I. is a volunteer organization, of almost 800 families serving homeschoolers in the northeast Florida region. Essentially, we are a support group of other smaller support groups, home-based private schools and individuals, and as such offer unlimited opportunities for serving and encouraging one another.

Florida Home and Alternative Learners Conference. LIFE Fest 2010 is set for September 18 at the Orange County Extension Service in Orlando. home of the Orange County 4H, and a spectacular facility at which to celebrate all that's wonderful about community education resources. Orange County 4-H is the youth development program of Orange County University of Florida/IFAS Extension. 4-H provides informal, hands-on learning to youth ages 5-18 through clubs, school outreach and experiential learning. Programming exists in three main areas: science, engineering, & technology (SET); citizenship/leadership; and healthy lifestyles - all the types of learning we'll be looking at during LIFE Fest 2010.

Barrington Hill is a beautiful 50 acre horse farm in Dade City Florida(Pasco County) that is now accepting Home School Students in our riding program. Our lesson program is designed to teach children the fundamentals of horses. Our program is a great way to earn credits towards Physical Ed. We are looking for energetic, interested and exciting individuals to help bring MOSI’s exhibits to life. If you are an outgoing individual with a desire to work with people and enjoy a wide range of opportunities, then MOSI is looking for you. Morning and afternoon shifts are available Monday through Sunday. All of MOSI’s volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Additionally, volunteers must be willing to commit to a minimum number of shifts per week and a minimum number of consecutive weeks of volunteer service.
